Ya know this new MacBook Air laptop Apple has been touting? On one hand we get great reviews and on the other hand skeptics who say it niche and doomed to fail. What most don't realize is this is Apples' way. They throw caution to the wind and try to be, for lack of a better word, different.

It's really a hint of what's to come from Apple as they are already looking to the future. A wireless, diskless future. Remember when everyone was up in arms about the missing floppy? Had Apple lost it's mind? It's an unfortunate truth that sometimes we have to be send kicking and screaming into the future as we (by nature) are a comfort zone species. Change is scary. And for a lot of other companies change is deadly (Cough* Record companies*Cough). It's a threat to a whole host of ecosystem lifestyles that some companies adhere to.

So will the MacBook Air be a success? - maybe, maybe not. Will the direction of where computers are going be affected by one company willing to take the chance? - you betcha. And the rest will follow.
